• While 99minds already provided a robust gift card platform, WooCommerce merchants needed a practical way to connect their online stores with the service.

• The integration had to simplify the onboarding process, securely connect each merchant's store with 99minds, and ensure that gift cards behaved like a natural part of the WooCommerce shopping experience.

• Beyond installation, the solution also needed to support the complete customer journey, from purchasing a gift card to redeeming it during checkout, while respecting WooCommerce's order lifecycle, currency handling, and checkout process.

Rather than building a standalone gift card system, we focused on creating a reliable bridge between WooCommerce and the 99minds platform. Our goal was to make the integration feel native to WordPress while allowing merchants to continue managing gift cards through the 99minds ecosystem.

1. WooCommerce Plugin Development

We built a dedicated WooCommerce plugin that connects stores directly with the 99minds platform. The plugin handles the installation workflow, securely exchanges the required store information during registration, manages authentication with the 99minds platform, and provides merchants with a straightforward setup experience.

2. Merchant Onboarding & Store Registration

A key part of the project was simplifying the onboarding experience. We developed an automated registration process that collects the necessary WooCommerce store information, securely transfers it to the 99minds platform, and completes the merchant registration flow. During setup, the integration automatically establishes the required connection between WooCommerce and 99minds so merchants can begin using the platform without unnecessary manual configuration.

3. Gift Card Purchase Integration

We integrated the complete gift card purchasing workflow into WooCommerce. Using the provided widget integration, merchants can display gift cards directly on their websites while customers can browse, configure, and purchase them as part of the normal shopping experience. Once purchased, the gift card is processed through the 99minds platform and delivered to the customer while remaining fully integrated with the WooCommerce checkout flow.

4. Gift Card Redemption

We implemented gift card redemption directly within the WooCommerce checkout process. Customers can enter their gift card details during checkout, validate the available balance, and apply the value to their order without leaving the website.

5. WordPress Integration & Maintenance

Beyond development, we handled the deployment of the plugin within WordPress environments and ensured that the integration remained reliable as WooCommerce and platform requirements evolved.

• The completed integration allows WooCommerce merchants to connect their stores with the 99minds gift card platform through a dedicated plugin instead of relying on custom development for every implementation.
